Wordle Solver
Enter each Wordle guess and set the colours you got. The solver lists every word that still fits, with the most common words first, and suggests the guess that rules out the most options.
Type each guess, then tap a tile to set its colour: gray, yellow, green. Press the button with no guesses to see the best starting words.
How it works
- Type your first guess into the top row.
- Tap each tile until it matches the colour Wordle showed: gray, yellow or green.
- Press "Show possible answers". Add your next guess and repeat.
Repeated letters are handled the way Wordle does it: if you guess a letter twice and only one is coloured, the word has that letter exactly once.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Wordle solver work?
Type each guess and tap its tiles to match the colours Wordle showed you: green, yellow or gray. The solver keeps only the words that would give exactly those colours and ranks the best next guess by how many answers it rules out.
How does it handle repeated letters?
The same way Wordle does. If you guess a word with two Es and only one turns yellow or green, the answer has exactly one E. Many simple word filters get this wrong.
Does the solver know today's answer?
No. It only uses the colours you enter, so it works for any day, past games and practice games, and it never spoils the answer.
What does the "Hard mode" box do?
Wordle's hard mode makes every guess use the green and yellow letters you have found. Tick "Hard mode" and the solver only suggests words that could still be the answer, so every suggestion is a legal hard-mode guess.
